Papplewick in Peril!

October 17th, 2017 · 3 Comments · General News, Learning Habits, Outdoors, Year 4

intrepid sports reporting by Noah, 4H

William and Matthew were out, so Edgar and Rowan came in. Holme Grange were worried as they heard Papplewick were really good.

The game kicked off with Holme Grange surprisingly having quite a few attacks.  The game was 0-0 with both sides attacking, until Jack got the ball through a defender and keeper error and took advantage to score a goal, slipping it into the net.

Holme Grange’s biggest scare in the first half was when Papplewick ghosted past the defence, with two HG defenders and Daniel coming out of goal, Papplewick almost scored but hit the post and Finn cleared the danger. Holme Grange won a corner and then another, when Rowan hit the ball in low and Murat blasted the ball into the roof of the net, the dumbfounded keeper couldn’t save it.

In the second half Papplewick were better, scoring one goal half way through the half. HG’s defence went to sleep a bit and Papplewick slipped through but they couldn’t score. HG sealed the fourth win when Jack again ran outside the area, slipped but managed to shoot the ball into the net!

Papplewick players gave HG a scare when they managed to get though the defence, and Edgar slipped in goal but managed to put the striker off and he shot wide.

Holme Grange wins 3-1! The fourth win on the trot!

I’ll be back after the half term break with the report from Lambrook.
