Holme Grange hosted St George’s and tried to bounce back on that defeat to Waverly School.

So HG kick-off and an early chance steered wide by William B. His second shot found the back of the net  1-0 HG. Their second goal came soon after Matthew blasted it into the net. Their third goal came a few minutes later when William B again scored when he dazzled the ball into the net. HG’s fourth goal came after a goalkeeping error, when the goalkeeper could not get to the ball in time, and even Ethan passed it to William for his hat trick and it was a tap in. Just before half-time, however, SG scored. The defence was all over the place and it was rocketed into HG’s goal.

At halftime the score was 4-1 to HG. The managers did a team talk and then they were back onto the pitch for the second half. Both teams played better in this half. SG kept having chances and so did HG. There was only one goal in this half when Henry did a long throw, finding William, who did a lovely pass to Matthew who slotted it under the keeper, making the score 5-1 to HG.

This score ended the match and HG had shown that they can do well after that 5-2 thrashing from Waverly last week. They really showed them who is boss and the managers were really happy. I spoke to William who thought the game was very good. That’s all from me, the score is 5-1 and I’ll leave you with the highlights- until next time.
