My Visit to Frimley Park Hospital

During the holidays I went to hospital to have a procedure on my eye. The doctors needed to put me to sleep so that I would stay still and so it wouldn’t hurt. I was very nervous.

First the nurses put special cream on my hands to make the skin numb.

Then I had to wait on the children’s ward until it was my turn.

When the doctor was ready for me a special porter wheeled me on my bed to the theatre.

Once I was there the anaesthetist put a little cannula in my hand so they could get the medicine into me that would make me go to sleep. I thought it would hurt but the cream on my hands really did make it numb and I watched them put it in. The anaesthetist thought I was really hardcore. Then they put a bandage on it.

Afterwards I felt very tired so I slept. When I woke up I watched some CBBC and had some food. The nurses on the ward were very kind and I am glad my eye is better.
